Cole Swiger makes 2 runs hold up for the Upper Dublin Cardinals in 2-1 win over Wissahickon. The Upper Dublin Cardinals didn’t provide Cole Swiger with much support, but he didn’t need much. Swiger pitched seven strong innings to carry the Upper Dublin Cardinals to a 2-1 win over Wissahickon in seven innings on Tuesday.
The Upper Dublin Cardinals broke a scoreless tie in the sixth inning, pushing a run across sixth on an RBI double by Swiger. JT Breslin helped the Upper Dublin Cardinals take the lead for good in the seventh inning with an RBI single. Steve Bell reached on an error to get on base in the seventh. He then went from first to second on a groundout by Thomas Juelke and was plated by Breslin.
WHS’ Williams was charged with the loss. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed two runs. Wissahickon scored its only run of the game on an RBI single by Tappen in the sixth inning.
