The Upper Dublin Cardinals topped Cheltenham 7-3 in on Tuesday behind JT Breslin who went 3-3 at the plate and the long distance power of Thomas Juelke, and Cole Swiger who both homered. Breslin doubled in the third inning and singled in the first and sixth innings. UD bats also produced two home runs in a 6 run fourth inning. A solo home run by Thomas Juelke, followed by Cole Swiger‘s grand slam. On the mound, Tommy Reilly recorded the win for the Upper Dublin allowing just two runs over four innings while striking out three, walking six and surrendering only two hits. Andrew McDermott pitched the 5th and 6th and held Cheltenham hitless, allowing no earned runs, walked one and striking out three and Swiger closed out the game by pitching the seventh.
Joel White ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked three and struck out five. In the bottom of the third, Cheltenham grabbed the early lead, 1-0. Jordan Rorer singled to ignite Cheltenham’s offense. An error then moved Rorer from first to second. Cheltenham scored one run in the fourth inning and the seventh. In the fourth, Cheltenham scored on a walk by Rorer, plating Jawan West. One run in the bottom of the seventh helped Cheltenham close its deficit to 6-3. An RBI double by Kieran Versaw-Barnes triggered Cheltenham’s comeback. Swiger got the last out, as Cheltenham’s Alex Haasz struck out to end the game.
