Freshman open season with 7-4 win over Pennbrook

DSC_0321The Upper Dublin Cardinals Freshman outlasted Pennbrook on Wednesday after four lead changes, squeaking out a 7-4 win at Pennbrook Middle School. The Upper Dublin Cardinals Freshman finally managed to grab the lead after a strong fifth inning. The Upper Dublin Cardinals Freshman went up for good on a two-run double by Quinton Derr off Leconey, scoring Josh Meltzer and Max Bleznak. Derr racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Upper Dublin Cardinals Freshman. Jonathan Lew was in control on the hill. Pennbrook managed just two hits off of Lew, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out five during his 4 1/3 innings of work.

Romano ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
