UD Fr 3 Quakertown 7 – Cardinals  surrender sixth inning lead to Quakertown in 7-3 defeat

The Upper Dublin Cardinals lost the ballgame after losing the lead in the sixth inning Wednesday, as Quakertown grabbed a 7-3 victory in seven innings at the Field of Dreams.   Chris Greve did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Cardinals, reaching base three times. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

Greve got things going for the Upper Dublin Cardinals Freshman with a single. Alex Goldenberg singled, plating Josh Meltzer.  The Cards got one-run rallies in the fourth inning and the fifth. In the fourth, Upper Dublin scored on an RBI single by Jarrod Matz, scoring Alex Palumbo.

The game’s last lead went to Quakertown thanks to a sixth inning rally that saw seven runs cross the plate on a two-run double by Kelley, a groundout by Nace, an RBI single by Gersch, and a two-run triple by Ritter. This makes the Cardinals 4-5, and hopefully they can boost this win percentage tomorrow, when they have another home game.
